When communicating via emails with your counsellor, you decide when to write. You have more time to reflect. The process of writing can often allow you to already get a clearer picture of the issue or issues bringing you to counselling. Since you are by yourself during this process, you can feel freer to express yourself.
You don’t need to be a technology wizard. Spelling does not matter at all, and you do not have to watch your language. Being familiar with sending and receiving emails is all you need.
When you’re ready, please fill in this short questionnaire to ensure email counselling is the best option for you. If you decide to go ahead with email counselling, I will ask you to return a consent Form outlining the policies and procedures we will be following during our online counselling. To ensure confidentiality, we will use SCRYPTmail, which is a free encrypted email service. It is as easy to use as any other email platform but all communication remains strictly confidential. I will send you an invitation so you can set up your own free account.
